FE by France Evaporation is proud to announce the commissioning of its latest project, carried out in collaboration with ArcelorMittal at the Mardyck site in northern France. This partnership is part of an ongoing effort to optimize industrial effluent treatment that began nearly ten years ago.
A lasting collaboration
Since 2016, an initial installation developed by our teams has significantly reduced the volume of oily emulsions, a liquid waste generated during steel production. This solution represented a major step forward in waste management and environmental efficiency at the site.
A project ready to support new production lines
With the installation of new electric steel production lines, ArcelorMittal once again called on our expertise to increase the capacity for treating effluents from these processes. The goal: to significantly reduce treatment costs while improving internal resource recovery.
The condensate generated is fed back into the plant’s internal circuits for reuse, thereby enhancing the site’s overall efficiency and its circular economy approach.
High-performance technology: falling flow by MVR
Thanks to our Mechanical Vapor Compression (MVC) falling film technology, FE by France Evaporation will be able to treat an additional 25,000 tons of effluent each year. This optimization will enable:
- a final volume divided by 30,
- an annual saving of 4,000 tons of CO₂.
Concrete results that demonstrate the positive environmental impact of this solution
Renewed confidence
We would like to extend our warmest thanks to ArcelorMittal for its renewed trust. This new project further strengthens a solid collaboration built over nearly ten years of partnership focused on innovation, industrial performance, and reducing environmental footprint.
