Quand la confiance s’inscrit dans la durée, elle donne naissance à des projets à forte valeur ajoutée
Recently, a new evaporator and compressor were installed at the LEIESTROOM methanization site in Menin (Belgium), in collaboration with BiogasTec NV.
This site holds a special place in FE’s history. An initial installation was commissioned there back in 2011. More than ten years later, this historic collaboration continues and is growing stronger, driven by a shared desire for technological and energy-related progress, as well as mutual trust built up over the years. These projects demonstrate that lasting relationships between industrial partners can become a real driver of innovation and performance.
A transition to more efficient energy use
As part of this modernization, LEIESTROOM has chosen to upgrade its process by abandoning the existing cogeneration engines and evaporation basin in favor of a solution based on Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR).
This transition will enable the company to control its electricity consumption, improve the overall efficiency of the site, and significantly reduce its environmental impact. The modernization reflects the manufacturer’s ambition to adopt more efficient and sustainable processes, while optimizing the site’s energy use.
A system complemented by a high-performance pre-evaporator
The installation was completed with a pre-evaporator (PEV). Equipped with hot water heating, it optimizes the use of available thermal energy. This configuration ensures greater process efficiency. It enhances the sustainability and robustness of operations, while offering flexibility for future developments.
This project highlights the renewed confidence of a long-standing partner and FE’s expertise in designing, adapting, and deploying high-performance, scalable industrial equipment. It illustrates how combining technical expertise and long-term relationships can generate high value-added solutions that are environmentally friendly and tailored to the specific needs of each site.
