Vinasse
Vinasses: concentration and energy and agronomic recovery
Home > Industries > Environment > Vinasse
Vinasses from sugar, yeast, chicory, or other agri-food production processes can be effectively concentrated by evaporation using technologies developed by FE.
Concentration by evaporation: reduction of volumes and separation of water
Evaporation separates water from the organic and mineral matter contained in vinasses:
- Water can be directed to a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).
- Concentrated vinasses can be recycled for agricultural spreading, reducing transportation and storage costs.
Potassium crystallization: double recovery
Some potassium-rich vinasses can be treated by crystallization, allowing:
- The separation of potassium in the form of solid fertilizer (potash)
- The use of potash-free vinasses in animal feed
Low-energy technologies
Our solutions incorporate mechanical vapor Recompression (MVR), ensuring:
- Reduced energy consumption
- Excellent thermal efficiency
- Adaptability to variations in vinasse composition
Typical applications:
- Treatment of distillery or fermentation vinasses
- Agronomic and nutritional value
- Reduction in the volumes to be transported or processed.
